7.62x39 C.A.P.S. 16" Mid-Length Piston Upper with Troy M-Lok Handguard

From purchase to acquisition, almost exactly 4 weeks (within the 4-5 week timeframe given by the website). Packaged in a slim cardboard box, and the upper was liberally protected with bubble wrap. No blemishes or slack in any parts. The bolt carrier is high quality nickel boron, but take note that the bolt assembly itself is not NiB, but shouldn't be an issue; the internet is littered with glowing reviews of Black Rifle Arms BCGs. The upper assembly comes slightly dirty, as evidence of BRA test firing the upper before shipping. The upper receiver also came somewhat dry on lubricant - by finger I couldn't feel much on the upper receiver but there was visibly and tactilely ample lubricant on and around the charging handle, the bolt carrier, and the bolt assembly. YMMV. Assembled on an Anderson lower, built with a Palmetto State Armory Magpul lower build kit. The upper fits the lower almost seamlessly; the only gap is a very small 1-2mm slit near the back of the upper. As I am in California, I took the "locked-mag" approach to avoid having to use a sharkfin grip. The AR Maglock Gen2 with Kingpin that I installed functions flawlessly. I've uploaded a 5 shot group, in the middle of the photo, after managing to zero in, using a Primary Arms 1-6x 300BO/7.62x39 LVPO scope with a $40 Caldwell bipod and small 6' height rear bag (just because I had them on hand at the time). I'm not the best shot so excuse the strays on the bottom while sighting in. This was with Red Army Standard 7.62x39 122grain FMJ (repackaged Tulammo - couldn't get my hands on anything better). Only have around 200 rounds of the Red Army Standard ammunition run through it as of this review, but has functioned perfectly. Can also personally confirm, with exception of the suppressor-based setting, that the CAPS settings work exactly as described. Couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. Buy with confidence.
