Q: I’m looking for an enhanced firing pin for ARs chambered in 5.45x39 and would like to know if these will protrude equivalent to an AK 74 for reliability. Any info confirming this application you can give is greatly appreciated.
A: In the testing we did....yes. This firing pin is for the 7.62x39 and 5.45x39, but in our testing the best performance for this caliber is an additional Enhanced Power Hammer Spring.
Q: I just received my second set of firing pin and hammer spring for 7.62x39. They work flawlessly. My question is do they come with any warranty if needed.
A: All smart parts have a 6 month warranty against manufacturing defects. All small parts at some point will need to be replaced.
Q: will this fit a side charging bolt
A: It will fit any bolt with AR-15 mil-spec characteristics.
Q: Will this fit a 300 blackout
A: Yes it will fit; however, you should not use an enhanced firing pin with other calibers outside of the products description as you can cause pierce primers. If you are having light strikes please ensure hammer spring is installed correctly.
Q: Can this firing pin be used with brass case ammo, I don't want to have to swap out firing pins when I shoot 7.62x39 brass case ammo.
A: We have never had an issue between steel and brass nor has any of our customers reported any issues in the 10 yrs we have been manufacturing them; however, we do tell customers that if you go to brass case ammo just check the first few primers to ensure you are not piercing them.
Q: Is this an extended firing pin and will it work on a 5.56/.223
A: No, you could pierce primers if attempting to use in a 5.56 rifle. If you are experiencing light stikes in a 5.56 rifle using steel case ammunition something else is going on. First thing to check would be a hammer spring installed incorrectly.
Q: Will this firing pin work in a Palmetto State Armory KS-47?
A: If Palmetto State KS47 utilizes an overall length mil-spec firing pin then our ehanced firing pin will fit.
Q: Will this enhanced firing pin work for 300 blackout?
A: No, this firing pin was designed for the x39 calibers due to hardened primers to prevent slam fires in the SKS and AK calibers. We do not recommend using this firing pin for other calibers or it could cause pierced primers as it allows for further protrusion to set off the x39 ammunition.
Q: Will this work in the cmmg mutant MK47
It uses an ar-10 bolt not the standard 5.56 BCG
A: These firing pins are spec'd for the AR-15 7.62x39 bolt assemblies which utilize mil-spec AR-15 Bolt Carriers. These bolt assemblies are not spec'd for any firearms spec'd larger than the AR-15.
Q: Will this work for both 5.56 AND 7.62x39 platforms? I would like to install them on both rifle platforms
A: No, these are not designed for other calibers as they can cause pierced primers. If you are having issues with setting off 5.56 steel case ammunition and light strikes please reach out to us as something else is going on. Enhanced firing pins are only designed for the 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 platforms.
