Q: Will the 6.5 Grendel bolt work with type 2 7.62x39 uppers? Specifically, a BCA make?

A: If a 7.62x39 is chambered for a type 2 bolt (6.5 Grendel) then yes you will need a 6.5 grendel extractor to replace. We only see this in very rare circumstances, so be sure your chamber is for the 6.5 grendel.

Q: We know the material of the extractor, but is it phosphate coated or qpq?

A: All our extractors are phosphate. From past experience when you melonite extractors you can cause them to become brittle, It's just not a good part for the melonite process due to the thickness of some of the extractor specs and the melonite process can cause overpenetration and cause brittleness.

A: A true 6.5 Grendel bolt assembly has a bolt face of .136" (known as Type II bolt in AR community) so this extractor kit is only good for Type II Bolt. If one needs a Type I bolt then they have a 7.62x39 bolt assembly which has a .125" bolt face; and, therefore, would need to go with a 7.62x39 extractor kit found here: http://www.blackriflearms.com/762x39-Melonite-QPQ-Bolt-Assembly-_p_239.html
