Black Rifle Arms patented Buffer and Spring Assembly allows for Maxim Defense and SB Honey Badger PDW Stocks and Braces to be finely tuned with different buffer weights from Carbine, H2 & Pistol. We are the patent holder of these Buffer and Spring Assemblies, we have not licensed others to manufacture our patented buffers/springs. PLEASE NOTE: If you have our Enhanced Compact Buffer PDW KIT for Strikes Viper Stocks & Braces these Buffers & Springs will work with your setup.

You can choose between these buffer and spring combos:

Carbine Buffer and Spring

Carbine Buffer weight 3.15 oz

H2 Buffer and Spring

H2 Buffer weight 4.60 oz.
H2 Buffer is needed to run full-auto

Q: I have a 9mm PSA AR-V with the SB HBPDW brace. I am looking to add some buffer weight to help further soften the recoil of this firearm for my wife. Do you have a solution here with your EBS assemblies? I believe the stock HBPDW buffer is 4oz. If so, which spring and buffer options would you recommend. Thank you.

A: A 9mm take a PDW pistol buffer and we no longer manufacturer them, sorry.

Q: Would you still recommend the H2 buffer/light spring for a 6" .300 BLK build? I'm using a standard, run-of-the-mill gas block with a Maxim Defense HateBrake muzzle device. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

A: Yes, we still recommend the PDW Light Spring and PDW H2 buffer for your setup.

Q: For the ddm4pdw with an frt would you still recommend the h2 with light weight spring?

A: We don't advertise our kit working with FRS triggers as they are banned in Florida and therefore we are unable to test so there is no clear direction on this. We do have customers that do buy the kits for FRS; however, we can't advertise due to not having our own R&D behind it. If you try the kit you can try both standard and light to see what works best in your particular build.

A: It's hard to tell with different setups and gassing. For our SBR's we run H2 with Standard Spring, with 300BLK we run H2 with Light Spring.

Q: I recently got the HBPDW Brace and attached it to my 8.5" .223 wyld upper. It runs through a couple of rounds and then doesn't extract fully. I've checked to see if I get full bolt lock back already and it seems under gassed. Can I just order the H2 Buffer without the spring option if the existing spring is in good condition?

A: No, you will need the spring and buffer. Our buffer will not work with other manufacturers PDW spring.
